- Shifting of the implant: Generally the implants are fixed with proper sutures. Therefore, shifting is not a routine finding. However sometimes, shifting is noticed, either because of some unnoticed trauma or imprecise positioning. In any case a second minor surgery to correct the position is necessary.
- Rejection of the implant: Sometimes, the body does not accept the artificial material of the implant. The implant has to be removed under such circumstances and the person is back to the original profile of the face.
- Hardening of the tissues around the implant: Body forms a capsule like structure around the implant. in few patients this capsule hardens to an extent that distorts the shape of the implant. Such capsules needs to be broken by a minor surgery.
